Online Event Hosted on You Tube on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
From: 12 Noon - 13:15
We would be delighted if you could join us on Wednesday 24 April for an Open University online event.
There is plenty to look forward to in what promises to be a truly fascinating afternoon where we share some of the projects, research, and heartfelt stories from across our OU family.
The DEPA project's Principal Investigator, Professor Parvati Raghuram will speak at the event, and will look at the highlights of the project and what actual decolonisation might look like. The DEPA project addresses the question: What are the different knowledges and values underpinning peace and how can these practices be connected and compared across countries to create curriculum content and mode of delivery in informal and formal settings, Secondary and Higher Education (HE), in order to decolonise peace education?
Other speakers include
Andrew Newlands, Founder and Managing Director of Monty Bojangles: named after his beloved cat and inimitable mascot, Andrew’s brand of fantastical fun and uncompromising taste is fast becoming a household name. In this session, he will talk us through his journey, from OU BSc Psychology student to the founder and Managing Director of Monty Bojangles -the award-winning chocolatiers taking the confectionery market by storm.
Kate Mosse CBE, award-winning author, performer, essayist, playwright and campaigner: her ten novels and short-story collections have sold more than eight million copies worldwide. Her four works of non-fiction include a highly-acclaimed memoir about caring, An Extra Pair of Hands. Kate will talk to us about her own caring journey and experiences as an author.
