Celebrating Diversity: The “Be Free to TRANSform” Soiree

A Night of Transformation in Maputo

On April 26th, Maputo, Mozambique, was illuminated with the vibrant colours of diversity and transformation. An event titled “Be Free to TRANSform” was organised by TRANSFORMAR, an agent of hope and change in the community. This cultural soiree was not just an event, but a celebration of diversity, art, and TRANS expression.

Creating a Safe Space for Expression

The gathering aimed to create a safe and welcoming environment for TRANS individuals and allies. It was a platform for them to share their experiences, talents, and stories. The backdrop of this event was the ongoing struggles faced by LGBTI movements in Mozambique, making the event even more significant and a testament to resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

Launching the TRANS GUIDE: A Beacon of Support

The highlight of the evening was the official launch of the TRANS GUIDE. This initiative is a significant stride towards providing information, guidance, and support to transgender individuals. It aims to assist them on their journey of self-discovery, transition, and acceptance, particularly in contexts affected by conflicts and/or discrimination. The TRANS GUIDE is more than just a guide; it’s a symbol of hope and a beacon of support for those navigating their unique journeys.
